How each service is approached.
Every piece that arrives at Wela Atelier is assessed before any work begins. The owner is told what was found, what the service will involve, and what it will cost. Work proceeds only after this is agreed.
For mechanical overhauls, the movement is fully disassembled and each part examined under magnification before cleaning. Parts are only replaced when they are worn beyond serviceable tolerance — not as a matter of routine. Reassembly follows a specific order suited to the calibre, and timing is measured across positions before the movement is cased.
Quartz services follow a parallel logic: clean, test, replace what is needed, verify function. Bracelet and strap work receives the same considered approach — sizing is checked against the owner's wrist, not estimated.

Service carried out at the bench
All work completed on the premises in Chiang Mai, by the same watchmaker throughout.
Testing and verification
Timing measured and function verified before the piece is returned.
Return with documentation
Watch returned with a clear account of what was done and, for overhauls, a written service record.
Service 01
Quartz & Battery Care
A gentle service for quartz watches that have stopped or are losing accuracy. The work includes battery renewal, contact cleaning, gasket checks, and a function test. Suited to everyday wearers who want their watch dependable again. Includes a tidy seal check and advice on extending the life of the movement.
What is included:
- Battery renewal using appropriate cell for the movement
- Contact cleaning and inspection for corrosion
- Gasket inspection and replacement if degraded
- Function and accuracy test after service
- Guidance on care and expected battery life
Service 02
Bracelet & Strap Fitting
A careful fitting and refurbishment service for metal bracelets and leather straps — sizing, link adjustment, spring-bar renewal, and cleaning. Best for owners who find their watch uncomfortable or loose. Includes a comfort assessment and honest guidance on whether a part should be repaired or replaced.
What is included:
- Wrist measurement and bracelet sizing to fit
- Link removal or adjustment as needed
- Spring-bar inspection and renewal where fatigued
- Bracelet or strap cleaning
- Assessment of clasp and lug condition
Service 03
Complete Overhaul & Regulation
A thorough overhaul for mechanical timepieces that need full attention. The service covers complete disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, fresh lubrication, worn-part renewal, and precise timing regulation across positions. Suited to long-held pieces and serious wearers. Includes a written service record and a follow-up timing review.

- Full movement disassembly and part-by-part inspection
- Ultrasonic cleaning of all movement components
- Fresh lubrication with calibre-appropriate oils
- Worn-part renewal (communicated and approved separately)
- Multi-position timing regulation

Across all services
Standards that apply to every piece.
Intake inspection
Each piece is inspected on arrival and its condition noted — case, crystal, crown, and movement where accessible. Surprises during the service are communicated promptly.
Correct tooling
Case opening, crown work, and bracelet adjustment are performed with tools suited to the watch — not improvised. Scratches and case damage from poor tooling are among the most common avoidable outcomes at other workshops.
Pre-return check
Before a piece leaves the bench, it is examined once more — function tested, case inspected for marks, crown function confirmed.
Secure storage
Pieces in the workshop are stored securely and handled only by the watchmaker or intake staff. Nothing is left exposed on an unattended bench.
Open communication
If the scope changes during a service — a worn jewel, a damaged part found on disassembly — the owner is contacted before the work continues.
No hidden additions
The price agreed at intake is the price charged, unless a clearly communicated additional part or repair was approved separately.
