Why Wela Atelier

The difference quiet work makes.

Detail above speed

Each piece receives a considered assessment before work begins. Nothing is rushed, and the scope is agreed with you clearly.

Written service records

For every mechanical overhaul, a written record accompanies the piece — useful for insurance, resale, and simply knowing what was done.

Plain advice

We say what the watch needs — and what it does not. If a part can be cleaned rather than replaced, we will tell you.

Transparent pricing

Prices are stated per service. No hidden charges, no surprise additions. You know the figure before work starts.

Follow-up included

Overhauled movements are reviewed after settling. If timing has drifted in the first few weeks, bring the piece back at no further charge.

A workshop, not a counter

Work happens on the premises, in a quiet studio space on Nimmanhaemin Road. You are welcome to visit and ask questions.

Ready to bring a piece in?

A short conversation is all it takes.

Describe the watch and what you have noticed. We will tell you which service fits and what to expect, with no obligation.

Common questions

Things people often ask.

How do I know which service my watch needs?
The simplest way is to describe what you are noticing — the watch has stopped, the strap feels loose, or the movement is an old mechanical piece that has not been serviced in years. We will ask a few questions and suggest the appropriate work. There is no charge for this initial conversation.
How long does a service usually take?
A quartz battery service is typically completed within a day or two. Strap and bracelet work is usually same-day. A full mechanical overhaul takes two to three weeks, as the movement needs adequate time for lubrication to settle and timing to be verified.
Do you work on all watch brands?
We work on most mechanical and quartz movements — Swiss, Japanese, and domestically assembled. Some brands with proprietary movements or requiring manufacturer-authorised tooling are outside our scope. If we cannot take on a piece, we will say so clearly rather than attempt work we are not equipped to do well.
What does the written service record include?
For complete overhauls, the record notes the condition on arrival, parts renewed, cleaning and lubrication steps, and timing measurements taken on completion. It is dated and signed, and a copy is kept in our workshop log.
Can I visit the workshop?
Yes — we are at 47 Nimmanhaemin Road, Suthep, Chiang Mai, Monday through Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00. You are welcome to bring a piece in for an assessment, or simply to ask about a service you are considering.
Are the prices on the website final?
The prices listed are the standard service rates. In rare cases — such as a damaged crown, a broken mainspring, or a crystal replacement needed alongside an overhaul — additional parts may carry a separate charge. This will always be communicated to you for approval before the work proceeds.
